How long will it take me to get my licence?
That depends on the individual student, but on average they say 10 lessons if the student has the opportunity to practice regularly.
How old do I have to be to do my driving test?
The minimum age for your driving test is 17, however, you must hold your learners for at least 12 months if under 25. For over 25 you only need to hold your learners for 6 months.
What do I need to bring to my driving lessons?
You need to make sure you have your learners permit, a copy of the driving companion and suitable foot wear (no thongs, sandals, high heeled shoes etc)
Where do I meet the instructor?
You will generally meet the instructor at Noarlunga Shopping Centre car park. If agreed, you may be picked up from home, school, work or any other location (there may be an extra fee for this).
If I do my test in an automatic, am I restricted to only drive automatic cars?
Currently here in South Australia there are no restriction on either.
Am I able to do the lessons in my own vehicle?
Lessons may be carried out in your own vehicle if agreed by your instructor and meets all the safety requirements, is road legal and is a registered vehicle.
However, the preferred is to have lessons in an instructor’s vehicle with dual controls.
What happens the day of the VORT test?
60mins prior to the start of the test, you will be taken on a pre-test lesson. This lesson will give your instructor enough time to put you through all the slow manoeuvres and cover off on everything the examiner will expect to see during the test.
Your instructor will address any concerns or questions you have during your training. If you need any further clarification prior to your test, your pre-test lesson is the ideal time to ask.
